Gili Trawangan is the largest of Lombok's three famous Gili Islands, known for its vibrant atmosphere, stunning beaches, and world-class diving spots. Unlike its quieter neighbors Gili Meno and Gili Air, Trawangan offers a lively nightlife scene while still maintaining its tropical island charm.

The island is car-free and motorcycle-free, with bicycles and horse-drawn carriages (cidomo) as the main modes of transportation. The crystal-clear waters surrounding the island are home to sea turtles, colorful coral reefs, and diverse marine life, making it a paradise for snorkelers and divers.

With its white sand beaches, beachfront bars, and stunning sunsets, Gili Trawangan has become one of Indonesia's most popular island destinations, offering the perfect blend of relaxation and entertainment.

  • Best snorkeling conditions are usually in the morning
  • Sunset parties typically start around 5 PM

  • Accessible by fast boat (30-45 min) from Bali or public ferry (1.5-2 hours) from Bangsal harbor
  • No motorized vehicles - transportation is by foot, bicycle, or horse-drawn carriage
  • Many visitors combine a visit with stays on Gili Meno and Gili Air
